1. Cyberbullying
Gabrielle Molina, a twelve-year-old Filipino-American has killed herself after being cyberbullied by her classmates. A few insults that have affected her were being called a “slut” and being told that she looked like she had Down’s Syndrome. Gabrielle Molina was found dead in her room after classmates were said to have uploaded a video of her being beaten up by a friend-turned-bully in YouTube. Her parents asked them to take down the video, but they did not listen. Blames were also placed on the school, for not acting upon the issue fast enough.
In the United Sates, a teen aged
fifteen or sixteen years old named David Molak was found hanging himself in his
family’s backyard after numerous experiences of cyberbullying. A range of six
to ten bullies texted him, leaving nasty remarks and degrading insults for
absolutely no reason. Three days before killing himself, David was said to be added
to a group text anonymously filled with bullies just to be made fun of and
removed two minutes after.
2. Trolling

James Stanley from Gateshead has been
contacted by a Filipino scammer, asking him to send money so that she could buy
a phone. With both wit and humor, he has dealt with her pretty well. There was
a time when she offered him to bear his son and heir, only by the price of
£10,000. She acted in love with him and he played along with her. At last,
James posted their conversation, with the caption saying: “Everybody…I would like to announce that I have been made an extremely
happy man this morning by meeting the love of my life. She’s agreed to marrying
into my current harem and bearing me a son, an heir to my legacy, and all she
wanted was a small loan of £10,000 which I guess is fair.”
3. Identity Theft
Bishop Alberto Uy from Tagbilaran,
Bohol has reported to be a victim of identity theft, with the faker using his
pictures for the profile and cover photo. The account solicited donations in
his name. Upon finding about this, the bishop has placed a post saying: “ATTENTION
ALL MY FB FRIENDS: Somebody is making a false FB account of myself under the
name Abet Uy, asking for financial help or soliciting something. Don't believe
it.” He asked help from his friends to help him report the scammer and to not
be misled by the fake account.
38-year-old Kamilah Reid from Bromley, Kent, has
been a victim of identiy theft, with criminal using her name to pay for a £600 carpet
that she never ordered. For two years, the company has asked her to pay for it,
and she knew that she turned out to be a victim of identity theft. Though she has
told the company about this, they didn’t seem to believe her.
